Action Math Baseball

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We have completed substantial remediation across both the application and the website — including full keyboard operability, an accessible (non-canvas) game mode, accessible drag-and-drop, status announcements for assistive technology, and responsive reflow at 400% zoom — and we are now completing screen-reader verification of the remaining areas. Action Math Baseball is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA, with the known exceptions listed below. A formal third-party audit and a published Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR / VPAT®) are in development.

Steps we have taken to improve accessibility include:

• Full keyboard operability across the student and teacher application — every control, dialog, and game activity can be reached and used without a mouse.
• An accessible game mode — in addition to the interactive (canvas) game, students can play an equivalent, screen-reader-friendly version, so blind and low-vision students can complete the same standards-based math activities.
• Accessible drag-and-drop — the batting-order activity is fully operable by keyboard and announced to screen readers.
• Responsive reflow — pages adapt to a single column at small sizes and at 400% zoom (down to a 320 px width) without loss of content or functionality; wide data tables scroll within their own area rather than forcing the page sideways.
• Status announcements — live regions announce score updates, guidance, and completion messages to assistive technology.
• Accessible dialogs with focus management, labeled controls, and ARIA roles.
• A “Skip to main content” link, semantic headings, descriptive page titles, and a defined page language.
• Programmatic labels for form fields and grouped controls; data tables with proper header associations.
• Meaningful text alternatives for images, with decorative images hidden from screen readers.
• A color-contrast review of our palette toward WCAG AA, and readable typography.
• Captions on our training and tutorial videos.

We are aware that some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA, and we are actively working on them:

• Screen-reader verification of the Trade Players and statistics screens is still in progress; we are testing and refining these areas for fully non-visual use.
• End-to-end verification with multiple screen readers, and at high zoom, is ongoing across all screens.
• Some features rely on third-party services we do not fully control — interactive report charts (Google Charts), secure payment (Stripe), an optional instructor introduction video (YouTube), and player-statistics links (Baseball-Reference) — which may have their own accessibility characteristics.
• A formal third-party audit and a published Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR / VPAT®) have not yet been completed.

Action Math Baseball is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox) and to be compatible with common assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. The site relies on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; JavaScript and cookies must be enabled.
