Privacy & Security

Action Math Baseball (AMB), operated by eLEARNster, LLC, is built for classroom use and designed to protect student privacy. We collect only the minimal information needed to run the program, never sell or monetize student data, and never show advertising to students. This page summarizes our practices for schools and districts; the full legal text is in our Privacy Notice.

Compliance

  • COPPA — compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act; no advertising is directed to children.
  • FERPA — for School Accounts, student data provided by the school is treated as an education record. eLEARNster acts as a “school official” with a legitimate educational interest and uses the data only to deliver the service.
  • CCPA — we honor California Consumer Privacy Act rights, including access, data portability, disclosure, and deletion.
  • SOPIPA — consistent with California’s Student Online Personal Information Protection Act: we do not sell student information, do not serve targeted advertising, and do not build advertising profiles of students.

For Schools & Districts

Data Privacy Agreements. We will review and sign a district’s Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) upon request. To request one, email info@elearnster.com.

Student data we collect. Only what the program needs: a student’s first and last name (or nickname), grade level, school, city, state, and academic difficulty level. We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, or biometric data.

How it is used. Student data is used solely to provide and improve the educational service for your school. It is never sold, rented, or used for advertising.

Service providers. We rely on a limited number of trusted providers: cloud hosting and transactional email through Amazon Web Services (AWS, U.S. data centers), and card payment processing through Stripe; schools and districts may also pay by purchase order. Each provider is bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. Card payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant processor; AMB does not store card numbers.

Security. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on secure U.S.-based infrastructure, with access limited to authorized personnel.

Retention & deletion. Student data is kept only as long as needed to provide the service, and is deleted or returned at your request or at the end of the agreement, within 30 days. Adults and schools may request review or deletion of student data at any time.

Incident notification. If a security incident affecting student data occurs, we will notify the affected school or district without undue delay and no later than 72 hours after discovery.
