Technical Requirements

Action Math Baseball (AMB) is a fully web-based program — there is nothing to download or install. Students and instructors get unlimited, 24/7 access through our secure cloud hosting on Amazon Web Services (AWS), from virtually any modern computer or tablet. AMB has run reliably across the platforms below for years, so it works well on both current and older devices.

A tablet-size screen or larger is recommended for comfortable play and for viewing reports. Smartphones are not recommended for gameplay.

Web Browser & Operating System

AMB works in all major web browsers — Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox — with JavaScript and cookies enabled. Because the program is lightweight, it runs on browser and operating-system versions going back several years; we recommend a reasonably current version for the best experience and security.

Supported operating systems include current and recent versions of Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS / iOS, and Android. If you have an older or tightly managed environment, contact us and we’ll confirm compatibility.

Internet Connection

A standard school broadband connection is all that is needed. The program itself is lightweight — pages load quickly and gameplay sends only small updates — so it performs well even on modest or shared connections.

The training and instructional videos stream as standard video. Most in-game tutorial clips are small (about 1–2 MB); the longer overview and topic videos are larger (roughly 25–90 MB) and stream like any online video — plan for typical streaming bandwidth (about 1–3 Mbps per student while a video plays), with more headroom if an entire class streams at once.

Network & Firewall (for School IT)

If your network filters web traffic, please allow the following domains so AMB loads and plays completely:

  • stadium1.fb.elearnster.com — the program
  • media.fb.elearnster.com — training & instructional videos
  • actionmathbaseball.com — website & resources
  • www.baseball-reference.com — MLB player statistics
  • www.gstatic.com — report charts

Please also allow pop-ups / new windows for printable reports and PDF documents. Online card payment (instructor or administrator only) additionally uses Stripe (js.stripe.com, api.stripe.com). An optional instructor introduction video links out to YouTube (www.youtube.com) but is not required to run the program. Optional analytics domains are not required for student use and may remain blocked.

No Special Hardware or Software

No downloads, installs, or browser plug-ins are required. A mouse or touchscreen is all that is needed; a keyboard is helpful for entering answers. Speakers or headphones are needed for the narrated training and instructional videos. No microphone or camera is required.

Accounts & Access

Students sign in with a username and password — no software install and no personal email required. Instructors sign in with an email and password. AMB collects only minimal student information; see our Privacy & Security page.
